Background
ADRA Somalia is committed to promoting inclusive education and ensuring equal access to quality learning for all children, including those with special education needs and disabilities (SEND). Despite global efforts, children with disabilities in Somalia continue to face significant educational exclusion. This consultancy aims to address these gaps through comprehensive screening, assessment, and intervention strategies.
Objectives:
The consultant will gather information for decision-making and intervention in the following areas:
- Screening of children with special needs
- Recommending appropriate interventions
- Individual program planning and implementation
- Progress monitoring and evaluation
Scope of Work:
The assignment will involve:
- Developing a detailed work plan for assessment
- Conducting assessments and preparing reports
- Proposing interventions (including equipment and support)
- Creating a work plan for implementation and follow-up
Deliverables
- Detailed work plan
- Assessment report and debrief
- Proposed interventions with specifications and estimated costs
- Implementation roadmap
- Creating a work plan for implementation and follow-up
Duration
The consultancy will run for 40 days during December 2025 and January 2026.
Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Expertise in special needs education and inclusive education
- Experience in assessment and intervention planning
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and disability inclusion
